To comply with regulatory, sanctions, and card network requirements, Clapp Cards are subject to eligibility restrictions and spending limitations.

Who Cannot Get a Clapp Card

Clapp Cards cannot be issued to users residing or registered in the following countries:

  • Belarus

  • China (Mainland)

  • Cuba

  • India

  • Iran

  • Iraq

  • Israel

  • Myanmar

  • Nepal

  • Nicaragua

  • North Korea

  • Russia

  • Syria

  • Turkey

  • Ukraine

  • Venezuela

  • Vietnam

Users from certain high-risk jurisdictions may also require additional compliance review before card issuance.

Restricted Card Usage Countries

Clapp Cards cannot be used for purchases or transactions in the following countries:

  • Cuba

  • Iran

  • North Korea

  • Russia

  • Syria

  • Ukraine

  • Venezuela

Prohibited Purchases

Clapp Cards may not be used for:

  • Purchasing or trading digital currencies

  • Drug-related purchases, including cannabis, CBD, and similar products

  • Payments related to dark web marketplaces or cybercrime services

  • Purchases from unlicensed online pharmacies

  • Firearms, ammunition, or explosives

  • Hazardous materials or chemicals without proper regulatory approval

  • Escort or similar adult services

  • Transactions with illegal or unlicensed auction platforms

  • Unregulated lending or payday loan services

  • Unauthorized personal data brokerage services

  • Purchase or trade of endangered species or wildlife products

Why Was My Card Transaction Declined?

A transaction may be declined if:

  • The merchant falls into a restricted category

  • The transaction is attempted in a prohibited jurisdiction

  • The activity triggers compliance or fraud prevention controls

These restrictions are imposed by our card infrastructure and compliance partners and cannot be manually bypassed.
